The Start of South Coast Fire Safety

When I was younger, I experienced first-hand how a single, overlooked hazard in my family home was able to put everything that mattered to me at risk. It wasn’t just a house that was in danger; but our family home with all my family and the memories inside it. The shared meals at the dinner table, the slow and quiet evenings, the noisy laughter that filled the house. Not only did the fire threaten those memories but it also took away the sense of safety that a home should give.

That experience of a house fire has stayed with me for the longest time, and it still does to this very day. It made me realise that fire safety isn’t about rules or paperwork, it’s not even about the house; it’s about protecting families where they should feel the safest.
